Brian Taubman, Partner and Trial Attorney
For Brian Taubman, law isn’t just a career—it’s a calling. Inspired by his father and mentor, Bruce Taubman, Brian grew up seeing firsthand how dedicated legal work could protect people’s futures. This early exposure shaped a lifelong passion for justice and a career grounded in service, strategy, and results.
Brian is a graduate of Shaker Heights High School, Kenyon College, and Capital University Law School. Since entering the field in 2008, he has handled thousands of cases across criminal and civil law, with experience in municipal, juvenile, common pleas, and appellate courts. His background includes time as a prosecutor, work with the Legal Aid Society, and service as a magistrate in the Lakewood Municipal Court, providing him with a broad and diverse perspective on the legal system from multiple angles.
At Taubman Law and Cuyahoga Criminal Defense, Brian co-leads a practice that combines deep trial court experience with innovative, aggressive strategy. Whether defending against an OVI charge, pursuing expungement, or resolving a complex civil dispute, Brian brings a deep knowledge of Ohio’s rules of evidence, sentencing laws, and courtroom procedures. His ability to analyze how courts work—and where they often fall short—gives clients a significant advantage.
Brian is known for his sharp legal insight and straight-shooting communication. Clients trust him because he’s both accessible and thorough, offering clear answers in difficult times and fighting hard for the best possible outcome. His work has earned the respect of clients, colleagues, and judges across Northeast Ohio.
Beyond the courtroom, Brian is an engaged member of the Cleveland community. He lives in Lakewood with his wife, daughter, and dogs. You’ll often find him enjoying the Metroparks, walking at the dog park, supporting local causes, or catching live music around town.
